Lisbon, March

As an indecisive 4, we ran though the raining streets on the first night to find somewhere to eat. We ended up in the coolest ramen bar, which is perfect as me and Cee-Jay are obsessed with it. We dried off and then wandered to find a later night snack.
On the first full day, me and Cee-Jay woke up early to watch a misty sunrise. we waited it out and the city began to glow.
As we walked through the empty streets, we got to enjoy the city just us. it glowed orange, warm and cozy as if to welcome us. When we got back, my parents wouldn't let us in, as they were all planning a surprise for my 24th birthday. Balloons, confetti, bacon rolls, and presents. It was the perfect first full day for us.
Once we were finally out, the rain was off and on, but we got to look though the shops, enjoy the views and eat some great food.

For Christmas 2024, I surprised my parents and partner with a holiday to Lisbon — a little getaway to look forward to in March. We found a cozy apartment tucked into the old town and spent a few lovely days wandering through the streets, soaking up the atmosphere, and discovering the magic of Lisbon together.

We WALKED! all the way to the LX factory, which is filled with cool restaurants, edgy shops and so much culture. It really shows the diversity and creativity hidden in a small corner of a city.
Day to Porto...
For one of my Christmas presents, I was gifted ticket to a beautiful book shop in Porto, Cee-Jay and I got an early train through the country to visit - if i am honest, we didn't really enjoy it. the train station area was rough and as we walked closer to the tourist area it became full of life and colour. we stopped to have breakfast with a view, and planned more of the day ahead. we hopped in and out of shops, stopped for drinks and slowly made our way to the book shop.
Once the book shop was completed, we got an early train back to Lisbon, were we wondered through the lit up city. and snuck back to our apartment early to recharge from the early mornings. My parents spent the day going to the castle on the hill and had a date night in an Indian restaurant which they loved. The next day, Cee-Jay and I had another early morning to go visit the castle and met up with my parents for a lunch. we did a lot of sightseeing this day, hopped on a tram and had the history of Lisbon explained to us.
I am very thankful for this trip, it brought love, good memories and a lot of steps!
